THE Penang Island City Council (MBPP) and the Wawasan Open University (WOU) are inviting volunteers to take part in the ‘Keep Your Environment Clean and Green’ programme on Sept 29.

MBPP councillor Tan Hooi Peng said the event would be held at 8.30am in Rifle Range.

“Aside from the cleaning works, there will also be a public education programme to encourage the people to avoid using single-use plastics.

“Some 40 students from WOU have signed up for the ‘Keep Your Environment Clean and Green’ programme. We hope that more people will take part in this meaningful event,” she told a press conference at the council’s office in Komtar today.
