PENANG will continue to grow stronger economically and sustainably to ensure that the livelihood of the people is improved.

 

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the state government has given its best to the people for the past 15 years, fulfilling the mandate by the people.

 

“The Penang government will continue to provide and fight for facilities, utilities and other projects which will benefit the rakyat.

 

“We are grateful that Penang is recovering from the crises caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

“The state is also receiving strong investments over the last five years,” Chow said during the Batu Maung Aidilfitri open house at SK Mutiara Perdana in Sungai Ara, today.

 

Chow said the public could feel the dedication of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

 

“We can see that he is trying to fulfil the people’s needs while addressing the rakyat’s concerns,” he said.

 

State Entrepreneurial Development, Trade and Industry Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain highlighted a few key projects and flood mitigation projects in Batu Maung which had benefitted the residents in the area.

 

Abdul Halim, who is also the Batu Maung assemblyman, giving his speech.

 

“We also welcome the announcement of the George Town-Bayan Lepas Light Rail Transit project by our Prime Minister,” he said.

 

Abdul Halim then thanked the school, his team and volunteers for making the event a success.

 

The open house drew about 5,000 guests.

 

Also present were Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin, Bukit Tambun assemblyman Goh Choon Aik, Pulau Betong assemblyman Mohd Tuah Ismail, Bayan Lepas assemblyman Azrul Mahathir Aziz, and Penang Island City Council mayor Datuk A. Rajendran.
