SOUNDS of laughter and cheerful conversations filled the Pusat Penang2030 Kadun Sungai Pinang this evening as members of the local community came together in a warm spirit of camaraderie for a thanksgiving dinner.
The gathering brought together representatives from various grassroots organisations under the Sungai Pinang state constituency, including the Village Community Management Council (MPKK), the Women and Family Development Committee (JPWK), the Penang Youth Committee (JBPP), Relanita (female volunteers), and Sukarelawan Mutiara.

Organised by the Sungai Pinang state constituency service centre, the event also served as an early celebration in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year festivities.

Apart from enjoying a delicious buffet dinner, participants took the opportunity to reconnect, strengthen bonds and share moments of joy after working closely together for the community.
Penang Social Development, Welfare and Non-Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Lim Siew Khim, who is also the Sungai Pinang assemblyman, said the dinner was held to express appreciation to the volunteers and agencies that continuously support the constituency.

“It is also an opportunity for me to engage more closely with them and personally thank them for helping me carry out my responsibilities as an elected representative.
“Without their support, I would not be able to manage all the work on my own, especially with my duties as a state executive councillor.
“Programmes like this also provide a platform for me to share the latest policies and decisions made by the state government.
“With better understanding, they can then relay the information to the community in a clearer and more effective way,” she told Buletin Mutiara.
Lim added that similar appreciation programmes are organised annually in conjunction with major festive seasons to strengthen community ties and recognise the contributions of grassroots volunteers.
