EXCELLENCE and high quality work performance paid off for 315 employees of the Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) when they were rewarded with RM1,000 each for their outstanding services.

MBSP mayor Datuk Azhar Arshad said the recipients were rewarded under the city council’s Excellent Service Awards 2021 for discharging their duties excellently last year.

“The 315 employees comprised seven recipients from the management and professional group, 75 from the implementation group I, and 233 recipients from the implementation group II.

Azhar said the recipients were rewarded under the city council’s Excellent Service Awards 2021 for discharging their duties excellently last year.

“And apart from the RM1,000 cash reward, each recipient also received a certificate and an opportunity to further develop their careers such as by attending courses, seminars or conferences.

“Those who receive this Excellent Service Awards will also be given priority and opportunity to be nominated for medals, stars and titles from the Federal and state governments.

“And hopefully with all of this, it will motivate them to continue their excellent services for many years to come.

“At the same time, we also hope that we can see more MBSP employees receive this yearly award after this,” Azhar said during the Appreciation 2022 and Excellent Service Awards 2021 event at The Light Hotel in Seberang Jaya today.

One of the award recipients, Mohamad Fisol Othman, thanked MBSP for the recognition.

“This is my first time receiving the award since working in MBSP as a general worker since 2014.

“And it will definitely boost my spirit to always do my best in my field,” he said.

During the event, a total of 51 employees who would be retiring this year were also honoured.

Each of them received a wrist watch and a certificate of appreciation.

Azhar thanked all of them for their services all these years.

“I also would like to encourage MBSP staff to keep in touch with the retirees or those who are going to retire to learn and get the necessary advice. This can help them improve themselves as they serve MBSP,” said Azhar.

Assistant medical officer Ho Kun Thong said it has been nice working for the council for 41 years.

“And I am proud to see so many positive changes MBSP has gone through all these years.

“From municipal council to city council, MBSP has made a number of achievements and received a lot of accolades.

“And I hope when I officially retire in September this year, MBSP will continue the good momentum. After all, MBSP will always be in my heart,” he said.
