“I would like to thank KPKT, especially its Minister Nga Kor Ming, for approving another project for my constituency this year. I believe this is already the second project secured for the constituency this year.

“The main objective is to upgrade the ageing drainage system and provide a more comfortable pedestrian walkway, allowing residents to move around the surrounding area without having to rely on motorised vehicles,” he told a press conference today.

Wong added that the project was a continuation of the drainage and pedestrian walkway upgrading works previously undertaken by the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) along Lebuh McNair.

He said the ongoing improvements were aimed at reducing flood risks while providing a more connected and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure network around the Lebuh Cecil Market area.
