THE staff of the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) have been told to heed the advice of the Penang Health Department to prevent the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).
Penang Health Department public health medicine specialist Dr Chow Sze Loon said it was important for people to watch their personal hygiene in light of the outbreak.
“Practise regular hand washing and avoid direct contact with animals. Do not consume raw meat or those that are not properly cooked. Do wear a face mask as a preventive measure,” he shared during a briefing for the council staff on the prevention of 2019-nCoV at Komtar today.
Some 100 personnel attended the 90-minute briefing.
MBPP mayor Datuk Yew Tung Seang, who was also present, urged his staff to remain calm and follow the advice of the Health Department.
