Rep chips in to help affected families

CONCERNED about the plight of students from affected families due to the Covid-19 situation, Bukit Tambun assemblyman Goh Choon Aik has come forward to assist the Parent and Teacher Association (PIBG) of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Simpang Empat by organising the food basket distribution programme today.

According to Goh, he contributed RM2,200 for all the 40 food baskets through the programme that was conducted via drive-thru.

“Each food basket costs RM55. The objective of this programme is to help the students from families that are hugely affected by Covid such as those who have to undergo home quarantine.

“This is my first time assisting the school PIBG in conducting such programme and I am looking forward to more collaborations in the future to help the affected families.

“Hopefully, this will assist the school’s PIBG to help the affected families stay afloat during these trying times,” Goh told a press conference at the school today.

Also present was SMK Simpang Empat school principal Eshamuddin Abd Rahim.

Goh said he also donated three cartons of face masks, including hand sanitisers, to the SMK Simpang Empat to be used by the school management in view of the nationwide school reopening from Oct 3.

Eshamuddin thanked Goh for his assistance and valuable contribution.
