Penang deputy police chief prepares for new role in Bukit Aman

HE is a seasoned figure in the realm of crime investigation, and his expertise has now led to an esteemed appointment as the deputy director of the Crime Investigation Department in Bukit Aman, commencing April 15 of this year.

 

This individual is none other than Deputy Comm Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, the current Penang deputy police chief.

 

In an interview with Buletin Mutiara earlier today, Mohamed Usuf Jan, who commenced his tenure with the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) in 1988, highlighted his extensive 17-year background in investigation and operations.

 

“I dedicated the majority of my career to crime investigation and operational duties before being transferred to Penang as the deputy police chief in August of last year (2023).

 

“The experience in Penang has been truly amazing, particularly due to the exceptional cooperation we receive from the state government and other relevant agencies.

 

“On April 15, I will formally hand over my responsibilities to my successor,” he said.
