TWO cars are up for grabs in the Love Penang Run 2026 lucky draw, adding extra excitement to the fifth edition of the community running event, which is targeting 10,000 participants.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the cars, Perodua Axia 1,000 E, are sponsored by Penang Forward Sports Club (PFSC) adviser Datuk Tom Khoo as part of the event’s lucky draw prizes.
He expressed his appreciation to Khoo for his continued support of the event, as well as to all partners and sponsors whose contributions have helped ensure its continued growth.
The Love Penang Run 2026, jointly organised by the Penang State Sports Council (MSNPP) and Penang Forward Sports Club, with the support of the Penang state government and Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP), will be held at the Batu Kawan State Stadium on Nov 22 at 7am.
Chow said the move to Batu Kawan will bring the 5.5km event to another important location within Penang’s sporting landscape. Last year’s run was held at Bukit Mertajam, also in Seberang Perai.
“After four years of organising the event, Love Penang Run continues to grow as an event that not only promotes a healthy lifestyle, but also carries a greater message — bringing people together through sports,” he said at a media conference here today.
He said the run is open to everyone regardless of race, religion, age or background, making it a platform that reflects the spirit of togetherness among Penangites.
“This spirit is in line with the Penang2030 vision of building a ‘Family-Focused, Green, and Smart State that Inspires the Nation’.
“We want our people not only to be active in sports, but also to have opportunities to interact, build relationships and further strengthen the unity that already exists among us,” he said.
Chow said sports have a unique ability to bring communities closer together as participants share the same space, spirit and goal.
“Therefore, Love Penang Run is not merely a running event, but also a manifestation of our love and pride for Penang,” he said.
The early-bird registration fee is RM20, with every participant receiving a T-shirt, finisher’s medal and goodie bag, besides standing a chance to win various lucky draw prizes.
Apart from the two cars, the event is expected to offer a range of other attractions as organisers work towards achieving the 10,000-participant target.
Chow also expressed his appreciation to the event’s other partners and sponsors, particularly Moonwork Group, A.T. Precision, Daily Recipe Industries Sdn Bhd, Eastroc Beverage (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, A. Clouet (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and RED ONE Network Sdn Bhd.
He said support from all parties is crucial to ensuring Love Penang Run continues to grow as an inclusive and impactful community sporting event.

“Let us run for our health, engage in sports for unity, and together keep the spirit of Love Penang alive,” he said.
The event carries the tagline: Love Penang, Love Sports, Love Our Community.
PFSC president Datuk Lim Choo Hooi said the run will start and finish in front of the stadium.
“We have ample parking space at the stadium, which will, in a way, help minimise traffic congestion,” he said.
Also present at the press conference were state Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen, MSNPP director Harry Chai Heng Hua, PFSC adviser Datuk Tom Khoo and representatives of various sponsors.
